project overview

Ertech and Georgiou formed a joint venture and were awarded the contract to construct 5.8km of new dual carriageway for the New Northern Road, as part of the major arterial road alignment, associated with the new Western Sydney Airport.

scope of works

The scope of works included:

  • Clearing, weed removal and topsoil stripping;
  • Dam dewatering, fauna recovery, dam filling and reconstruction;
  • In excess of 620,000m3 of bulk earthworks;
  • Five large multiple cell concrete box culverts, headwalls and apron slabs;
  • Reinforced concrete pipe culverts and headwalls, 10.4km;
  • Rock lined open drains and rip rap, 8,900m3;
  • Concrete lined open drains, 26,000m3;
  • Imported select pavement materials 51,000m3;
  • Lean mix concrete pavement 30,000m3;
  • Asphalt pavement 60,000t;
  • New potable water mains, HV and LV reticulation and streetlighting;
  • Relocation of existing and installation of new NBN and Telstra infrastructure;
  • New traffic signals and CCTV infrastructure;
  • Associated road furniture and linemarking;
  • New reinforced concrete shared pathway 18,400m2;
  • Landscaping and revegetation works.
