Perth Airport Forecourt Plaza

Project Overview

Perth underwent a $1B redevelopment program which includes the construction of an architecturally designed and landscaped Terminal 1 forecourt plaza. Ertech’s works focused on the Terminal 1 plaza, with the end product providing a more pleasant environment for passengers. Other benefits include creating improved pedestrian access and pick up/drop off areas, covered walkways and seating. The project was delivered across three separable stages with the first stage having commenced in April 2015.

Scope of works

Separable Portion 1:

Demolition and disposal of existing pavement and selected above ground infrastructure
Removing and relocating selected airport infrastructure located within the project work
Minor earthworks to build up selected areas to design level
Temporary construction requirements including pedestrian trafficable footpath and safe bus dwelling
Installing T2 canopies linking to T2 bus station
Installing pay stations, smart lockers, all services, lighting, CCTV, hard and soft landscaping, final finishes and planting
Installing all required services throughout the forecourt to enable Separable Portion 1 and the temporary bus station to be commissioned
Installing all required below ground services to service the future façade retail, SP2 and SP3

Separable Portion 2:

Demolition and disposal of existing pavement and selected above ground infrastructure
Removing and relocating selected airport infrastructure located within the project works
Minor earthworks to build up selected areas to design level
Continued installation of all services to enable full commissioning of all assets, hard and soft landscaping to area east of C Services and facilities to enable PAPL operations to relocate eastern bank of smart trolleys
Completion of Small Charter Vehicle (SCV) car park

Separable Portion 3:

Demolition and disposal of existing pavement and selected above ground infrastructure
Removing and relocating selected airport infrastructure located within the project works
Minor earthworks to build up selected areas to design level
Completing permanent bus station and ‘town square’ with all assets fully commissioned
Hard and soft landscaping from kerb edge to new terminal façade including final finishes and painting
All designed assets across entire forecourt commissioned except for retail fit out
