Murrumbidgee and Lowbidgee WHS Compliance Contracts

Project Overview

Ertech was awarded two contracts for the design and construction of weir and regulator elements for the two valley areas. These awards were a result of Water NSW identifying many Work, Health and Safety non-conformances in the valleys. These potential hazards include slips, trips and falls, environmental and physical hazards, static and mobile plant and equipment, manual handling and working at height hazards.

The Murrumbidgee Project included the design and construct elements of 10 weirs and regulators covering a 400km diameter footprint from Leeton in eastern NSW to Balranald Town in western NSW.

Scope of works

Murrumbidgee Project

Included the design and construct elements of 10 weirs and regulators with the scope covering a 400km diameter footprint from Leeton in eastern New South Wales to Balranald Town in western New South Wales. The contract was for refurbishment or replacement works at each of the following locations:

Maude Weir
Tarabah Weir
Spillers Regulator
Tombullen Outlet
Gogeldrie Weir

The main scope of work included fabrication and installation of new 18-metre-tall stairs towers to provide safe access to weir gantry systems.

Lowbidgee Project

Included the design and construct elements of 16 weirs and regulators with the scope covering a 100km diameter footprint from Maude in eastern New South Wales to Balranald Town in western New South Wales. This contract was for the refurbishment or replacement works at the following locations:
