Overview
Newmont’s Boddington Gold Mine is located within the Saddleback greenstone belt in Western Australia. A large gold and copper mine, Boddington is located 16km from the rural farming town of Boddington and 120km from Perth.
With the expansion of the southern waste dumps impacting the existing D4 pumping infrastructure at the mine, Newmont now requires a new water storage dam with a minimum of 6Gl storage capacity.
The construction of the D6 Water Storage Dam will provide long term water security for this site.
The project is due to begin in January 2020 with works taking approximately 14 months to complete.
