Under Neil Foster‘s leadership, the team has leveraged Trimble Stratus to streamline various tasks, including measurements on earthworks projects. This advanced platform has greatly improved alignment and conflict identification processes across Ertech’s projects.
Key Advantages of Trimble Stratus
- Remote UAV Data Processing: The platform allows for overnight processing of UAV data, freeing up valuable operational time for other tasks. This efficiency eliminates bottlenecks, particularly at the end of the month.
- Self-Service for Engineers: Engineers can independently perform many tasks that would typically require surveyors, optimising resource use and reducing dependencies.
- Mobile App Utility: The Propeller mobile app helps field staff visualise the site directly from their mobile phones, enhancing on-site decision-making and communication.

- The data gathered from Trimble Inc. Stratus has been employed for a variety of specific uses, creating further efficiencies and improving project results.
- For instance, on a recent bulk earthworks project, Trimble Stratus enabled the team to move ~3 million cubic meters of material with only one surveyor on site, reducing labour costs and improving safety by minimising the number of personnel needed on the ground.
- While the geospatial data needs differ for each project, on average, Trimble stratus has halved the time it takes to deliver ready-to-use information for the team.
