Ertech was awarded the contract to perform pavement widening and strengthening to a 25 kilometre section of the Landsborough Highway between Longreach and Winton.
The Landsborough Highway being part of the National Land Transport Network between Brisbane and Darwin is the principal north-south route serving western Queensland. The widening and strengthening of the highway will provide the Client asset resilience, improved safety and increased flood immunity.
The project just north of Longreach between chainages 8,000 & 32,865 underwent pavement and subgrade rehabilitation works, repair of numerous areas of “edge break” and improved lane and shoulder definition.
The scope of works included:
- Formation widening;
- Triple blend stabilisation;
- Drainage structure extension;
- Pavements construction;
- Concrete medians.
