Ertech were engaged by the Department of Defence for the refurbishment of the existing Preston Point Wharf at the Leeuwin Barracks in Fremantle, WA.

scope of works

The scope of works included:

  • Demolition of existing slipway, concrete capping beam and wharf including timber deck, piles, lighting, power and services;
  • Construction of approximately 108 meters of new sheet pile wall with capping beam;
  • Construction of new guard rail;
  • Construction of new wharf including chaffers;
  • Construction of eight new steel piles;
  • Installation of six new light poles;
  • Installation of new 1T luffing / slewing JIB crane and the provision of training for the crane;
  • Installation of two new service pillars;
  • Design and construction of new floating pontoon;
  • Design and construction of piles for new floating pontoon;
  • Design and construction of new gangway;
  • Design and construction of two 144kL water tanks including foundations;
  • Design and construction of a pump shed including foundations and bunding;
  • Installation of pump set;
  • Design and construction of new fire main, booster, hose reels and fire hydrants.
