Ertech’s contract included all civil and landscaping works including the removal of all old services and pavement layers and reinstatement.

Works included:

  • 70,000m³ earthworks
  • 27,000m² roadworks
  • 960m stormwater drainage
  • 1,260m sewer
  • 1,920m water reticulation
  • 1,800m underground power
  • 1,115m cable and equipment installation for URD
  • Telstra installation
  • 15,000m² brickpaving
  • 400m² decorative cobblestone paving
  • 3,600m² footpaths and pram ramps
  • 350 stainless steel bollards
  • Landscaped public open space with amphitheatre
  • Rammed earth ablution building and change rooms
  • 18 steel shade structures with local indigenous artwork
  • Artistic sculptures

Innovations delivered

Many innovative techniques were developed to coordinate the relocation of existing services and replacement with new services in a built up and congested environment. Examples include:

  • Bypassing existing sewer mains to allow for rework
  • Redirection of water mains to isolate areas affected
  • Back feeding of underground power to allow new installation and energisation to occur
